The Ladies Inter Club Campaign got off to a superb start on Sunday with the Junior Cup recording a comprehensive win over a formidable Clontarf side.

At home and in glorious sunshine, a wonderfully on form Mary Lennon put the first score on the board, closing out her match on the 12 th to finish with a ‘dog licence’ - 7&6. Susan Dickson impressed the gallery on the 9 th with an immaculate birdie to turn 3up and went on to finish 5&4. Emer Digan put in a classy display and was 4up through the 13 th but her opponent fought valiantly to claim two holes back. Emer, never seriously under threat, sealed the match on the 17 th.

Due to a later start at the away venue Noeleen Murphy and Jeanne Mahony didn’t have the opportunity get into full swing before being called in, but they were in command of their matches with Noeleen being all square through five and Jeanne 2up through four.

A magnificent result for our Junior Cup ladies who progress to play Elmgreen in the next round. Well done to the ladies in pink!
